What is QBCore in FiveM?

QBCore is a widely used FiveM roleplay framework with the broadest mid-era resource library of the three mainstream frameworks. It defines a player-data model keyed on a citizenid, a job/gang system, and an inventory contract that a large ecosystem of community and paid resources build against. QBCore's core development has slowed relative to Qbox, its actively developed descendant, but its installed base and resource availability remain among the largest in FiveM.

In one lineQBCore is a long-standing FiveM roleplay framework, built on a citizenid-keyed player-data model, with the widest mid-era third-party resource ecosystem of the major frameworks.

The longer answer.

QBCore became the default choice for a large wave of FiveM roleplay servers, and its conventions — qb-target for interactions, qb-inventory for items, a job table with grades — became the assumed baseline that a generation of scripts, both free and commercial, were written against. That installed base is QBCore's main asset: more existing resources are compatible with it, natively, than with any single competitor.

The framework core itself (qb-core) has seen slower upstream development in recent years, which is part of what motivated Qbox — a fork that kept QBCore's data model and resource lineage but rebuilt the internals on the ox stack. Server owners evaluating QBCore in 2026 are typically choosing it for continuity with an existing resource library rather than for the newest internals.

Identity in QBCore resolves through QBCore.Functions.GetPlayer(source), and a player's job/gang appears as PlayerData.job / PlayerData.gang, with grade historically treated as a plain number — a convention that differs from Qbox's grade table and matters directly if you ever port a script between the two.
