How do FiveM script licenses work?
A FiveM script licence is the seller's grant to run their resource, usually for one community's servers, without the right to redistribute, resell, or share it. For escrowed resources the licence is enforced technically: the purchase is bound to your Cfx account through keymaster, and the encrypted files only run on servers using your key. Updates, transfers, and refunds are governed by the seller's own terms, which vary — read them before paying.
In one lineA FiveM script licence is a per-community right to run a resource, granted by its seller and, for escrowed assets, enforced by binding the purchase to the buyer's Cfx account.
The longer answer.
There are two layers to every licence. The legal layer is the seller's terms — an EULA or licence page that says what you may do (run it on your community's live, development, and test servers; edit the open parts for your own use) and what you may not (resell, share, post, leak, decompile). The technical layer applies only to escrowed resources: the purchase is recorded against your Cfx account, the encrypted files are bound to your server key, and the resource will not run on a server that does not hold the grant.
Scope is where buyers get surprised. "One licence" almost always means one community, not one human — a network running several servers under one account is usually covered, while an unrelated second community needs its own purchase. Updates are typically included within a major version and may or may not carry across a major-version bump. Whether a licence can move to a new Cfx account when you sell or hand over a community depends on the seller's policy and the platform's current transfer rules; some sellers permit it on request, others do not.
Licences end in three ways: a refund or chargeback (sellers with an order system revoke the grant automatically), a terms violation such as leaking the resource, or the seller ceasing to exist — which is why the licence terms should be read alongside the seller's support and maintenance record. Vice Drip's own terms are published at /legal/license; they are a draft pending attorney review and are not legal advice, but they show what a per-community grant with automatic revocation looks like in writing.
