What is keymaster in FiveM?
Keymaster (keymaster.fivem.net) is the Cfx.re portal where a server owner generates the licence key an FXServer needs to start, and where escrowed assets they have purchased are granted to their account. Because an escrowed resource is encrypted against that account's grant, keymaster is the link between a Tebex purchase and a resource actually running on a server. If a purchased escrowed asset will not start, the grant on keymaster is the first thing to check.
In one lineKeymaster is Cfx.re's account portal for FiveM server licence keys and escrowed-asset grants, binding a purchased resource to the buyer's account and server.
The longer answer.
Every FXServer needs a licence key, and keymaster is where it comes from: sign in with your Cfx account, register a server, and copy the key into server.cfg. That same account is the identity a Tebex purchase of an escrowed asset is recorded against, which is why sellers' checkout flows ask you to link or confirm your Cfx account — a grant to the wrong account is a resource you paid for and cannot run.
For escrowed resources the grant is the licence's technical form. The encrypted files check, at load, that the server's key belongs to an account holding the grant; without it the resource fails to start with an escrow error rather than a script error. Moving a server to a new key on the same account keeps the grants; moving to a different account does not, which is where the seller's transfer policy comes in.
Keymaster is also worth knowing as a troubleshooting stop. A resource that starts on one server and refuses on another, with the same files, is usually a key or grant problem — wrong account, an expired or regenerated key, or a purchase that never linked — not a code problem. Check the granted-assets list on keymaster before opening a support ticket with the seller.
