FiveM Admin Script Buyer's Guide (2026)

The short answer
An admin script is the most powerful, least audited code most servers run, so the buying question isn't what an admin can do — it's what happened, who did it, and whether the log can be edited by the person who'd want to edit it. Demand attributed, append-only records and server-side permission checks, not hidden menu buttons. Watchtower Admin (vf_admin) is in development, not purchasable, planned at $39.99 pending the studio pricing lock.
A diary is not an audit
Most admin tools write their own log into a table the same tool owns, with a delete or edit button sitting right next to each row. That means the one person with a motive to remove an entry — the staff member who created it — is also the one with access to remove it. A record that the person it is supposed to check can quietly revise is not an audit trail. It is a diary, written and edited by the person it was meant to hold accountable.
This is the buying question for the whole category, and it is answerable before you spend anything: can any privileged action be erased or rewritten by the staff member who performed it, including an owner or head admin? If yes, everything else the tool does is decoration on top of a broken foundation.
This guide is about the buying decision, not the mechanism
How to actually build an append-only, tamper-evident log — sequential numbering, cross-references to the systems it describes, and why 'tamper-evident' is the honest word where a claim of an absolute, unalterable record would not be — is covered in depth at /fivem-server-audit-log. This page stays on what to ask and verify before you pay for someone else's admin tool; it does not re-explain the mechanism.
What separates an accountable admin tool from a liability
Three questions do most of the work. Where does the log live? An audit trail stored in a separate append-only store the admin tool itself cannot rewrite is fundamentally different from one stored in the tool's own editable table. Is every action attributed? Every privileged event needs an actor and a server-side timestamp — no anonymous rows, no 'system' entries standing in for a person.
Is permission enforced on the server? A menu that hides options from a lower rank is checking permission on the client. The net event behind that hidden button is still reachable, and a modified client will call it directly. Every privileged action needs to be authorized on the server — source, permission, rate limit, argument types — regardless of what the menu displayed (/guides/fivem-server-security-net-events).
Why the blast radius is bigger than the feature list
An admin menu typically touches money, items, bans, and teleports across every other resource on your server. Ask specifically whether its actions on other systems — granting money, spawning an item, editing a job — are themselves visible to those systems' own records, or whether the admin tool is the only place that memory exists. An admin tool that is the sole witness to its own actions on your economy is a closed loop, and closed loops are exactly where disputes go unresolved.
What admin scripts cost
Our July 2026 survey of 13 stores recorded two admin prices, $12.99 and $29.99 (2026-07-15; full method at /guides/fivem-script-prices) — thin, and the spread suggests the category means different things to different vendors, from a simple report menu to a fuller staff suite. Watchtower Admin's own planned price is $39.99, a target rather than a commitment until the studio pricing lock.
The buyer's checklist
Seven questions. The first two are the ones that decide whether the tool can do its one job.
- 1 · Editability — can any privileged action be edited or deleted after the fact, by anyone, including an owner?
- 2 · Storage location — does the log live in a store the admin tool itself cannot rewrite, or in its own editable table?
- 3 · Attribution — does every entry carry an actor and a server-side timestamp, with no anonymous rows?
- 4 · Permission enforcement — are privileged actions authorized server-side, or only hidden from the menu?
- 5 · Cross-system visibility — do actions affecting money, items, or jobs appear in those systems' own records too, or only in the admin tool's?
- 6 · Performance, measured — resmon idle and active with artifact, framework, and date; method at /guides/fivem-resmon-script-performance.
- 7 · Escrow split, dated changelog, and a written SLA in hours — full standard at /guides/how-to-vet-fivem-script-sellers.
What to verify before you pay
If a trial exists, log in as a staff account, perform a privileged action, and then attempt to edit or delete that specific log entry from inside the tool. If it succeeds, you have your answer. Then attempt a privileged action from an account whose menu button is hidden, by calling the underlying event directly if you can — a permission check that only lives in the menu will not stop it.
Where Watchtower Admin sits
Watchtower Admin (vf_admin) is in active development — not built, not purchasable, no release date. Its preview page at /products/preview/vf_admin describes the intended design: every privileged action writing an append-only entry, that trail not editable from inside the tool that writes it, and permission checks enforced on the server rather than the menu. The deeper mechanism behind that design is documented at /fivem-server-audit-log. Its planned price is $39.99, provisional until the studio pricing lock.
What is not published: no resmon figures, and no runtime proof — pending our Shadow bench. We say tamper-evident, meaning removal is made visible, not that removal is impossible — and we would treat any vendor's claim of an unalterable record, including our own, as something to verify rather than accept on its word.
Questions, answered directly
What is the most important question to ask before buying a FiveM admin script?
Whether any privileged action can be edited or deleted after the fact by the staff member who performed it, including an owner. If the log lives in the same tool that writes it and that tool has an edit or delete button, the log is a diary rather than an audit trail.
What does 'tamper-evident' mean in a FiveM admin script?
No system can stop a database owner from running a direct delete against their own database, so no honest vendor should claim a record can never be altered by anyone. Tamper-evident means something narrower and real: removal is made visible, through sequential numbering, attribution, and cross-references to the records it describes, so a missing entry leaves a hole shaped like itself.
How much does a FiveM admin script cost?
Our July 2026 survey of 13 stores recorded two admin prices, $12.99 and $29.99 — a thin sample spanning a simple report menu to a fuller staff suite. Watchtower Admin's own planned price is $39.99, provisional until the studio pricing lock.
Is hiding a button from low-rank staff enough for permissions?
No. Hiding a menu option is a client-side check, and the net event behind that button is still reachable by a modified client. Permission has to be enforced on the server for every privileged action — source, permission, rate limit, and argument types all checked before anything happens.
Does Vice Drip sell an admin script?
No. Watchtower Admin (vf_admin) is in active development — not built, not purchasable, no release date, no measured performance. Its preview page at /products/preview/vf_admin describes the intended design and a provisional planned price of $39.99.
Where can I read about how an append-only admin audit log actually works?
/fivem-server-audit-log covers the mechanism in depth — append-only design, attribution, sequential numbering, and cross-referencing to the records it describes. This guide stays focused on what to verify before you pay for someone else's admin tool.
